I only saw this morning that my image “Rush Hour” of a Wildebeest crossing over the Mara river in the Maasai Mara, was featured on the acclaimed Earthshots.org web site on Wednesday 29th September 2010. Many thanks to Earthshots.org for the recognition.
This image captured during my trip to the Maasai Mara captures the energy, adrenaline and fear associated with a river crossing during the migration of millions of Wildebeest from the Serengeti in Tanzania onto the grassy wide open plains of the Maasai Mara in Kenya.
Millions of wildebeest migrate each year from the Serengeti in Tanzania to the grassy plains of the Maasai Mara in Kenya. To get to the Maasai Mara they have to face many treacherous river crossings. When a crossing takes place it is the ultimate in fear, adrenaline and energy for both beast and photographer. Hey Mitch – congrats…being featured on Earthshots is a special feeling. It’s a wonderful image that really captures the drama of the migration.
Thanks Morkel
