During this past summer growing season in Magaliesburg I was treated to fields of glorious sunflowers on my doorstep and for 2 weeks while they were in full bloom I was like a kid in a candy shop out at sunset and sunrise every day.
On the afternoon I took this, some storm cells were developing in the area and luckily did not completely block out the setting sun which found its way through completing the scene of the sunflowers perfectly.
We only get treated to fields of sunflowers every couple of years as the predominant crop in the area is Maize. This is the second time in 6 years we’ve had the farmers plant sunflowers and they certainly put on an amazing show.
