Eye On The Hunt – New Print Release

Today I’ve released another print in my growing Maasai Mara Fine Art Wildlife Collection. Cheetah‘s are no doubt the king’s of speed on the grassland plains of the Maasai Mara. The Mara provides the most ideal setting for Cheetah where they can often be found out in the open uncluttered by trees, shrubs or any other obstacles. This Cheetah, part of a group of 3, sat gazing off into the distance no doubt looking for a nice Thomson’s Gazelle for dinner.

Stealth Hunter – New Print Release

Another image release in my new collection of prints from the Maasai Mara. Leopards (Panthera pardus) truly are stealth hunters and are very agile in all aspects. We spent a while tracking this leopard on a morning drive in the Maasai Mara and it turned out to be quite entertaining. We watched this beautiful cat stalk some Dik-Dik’s who turned out to be far too clever for this leopard and quickly darted off into the bush once they caught scent of the leopard. Thereafter the leopard started moving through the river bed and this is when I captured this image. This image has a very slight sepia warming tone to the image which is not very noticeable in this small web preview.

King of Africa – New Print Release

Another image release in my new collection of prints from the Maasai Mara. I caught this male Lion staring off into his domain on an early morning drive. This male was clearly the dominant male as shortly after this image was taken, he got up, walked across very calmly to another male in the same pride, and gave him a solid swift smack in the face. The other male was trying to get fresh with one of the females and was quickly put into place by the boss. I felt this image really captured the essence of the King of Africa. This image has a very slight sepia warming tone to the image which just gives it that little bit more life than were it straight black and white.

There will be other prints in the series toned and processed in the same way. So for instance there will be no less than 5 other images with the same toning and theme as this image which will form a set but of course each image may be purchased individually too. New Wildlife Print – King and Kingdom

I’ve released a new print from my trip to Maasai Mara. I’ve wanted to capture a lion in this exact setting for some time and I was chuffed to finally have this come true. This male, the leader of the pride we encountered in the Maasai Mara, stood proud on top of this mound for a short moment before he and the pride started moving off. I love the feel of this image with the vast amount of space and the lion looking off into his kingdom, for me this is very reminscent of a scene from the Lion King. This image is now available in print. You can order by clicking on the buy prints menu option or by emailing fineart@livingcanvas.co.za with REFERENCE: MM-S0253
